AGM Exhibition highlights the health profile of your local area

20/09/2004

An exhibition highlighting the *health profiles of local communities in West Gloucestershire will be a key feature of the Primary Care Trust Annual General Meeting on Thursday September 30, 1pm-5.30pm at Huntley Village Hall.

The exhibition part of the AGM (to be held between 1-4pm) will also showcase the development of West Gloucestershire’s **eight local Patch Teams, describing the areas covered and the projects already underway to improve the quality of health care and the health of the local population.

A Health Promotion stand will give visitors the opportunity to have a health check and receive healthy lifestyle information.

Interim Chief Executive, Penny Harris said:

“The exhibition will provide an insight into the excellent work that front-line NHS staff have been involved in during the past year. They have contributed enormously to the development of services and have been involved in numerous community based projects to make very real improvements to the health of local people.”

The formal Annual Meeting beginning at 4pm will include a presentation of the Annual Report and Accounts, a review of the past year and plans for the year ahead. There will also be Staff Awards for long service in the NHS.

Staff and members of the public are welcome to drop in between 1pm and 4pm and/or attend the 4pm meeting.

Please telephone Gina Mann on 01452 389428 or e-mail: [email protected] to provide an indication of the number of people attending.

*Health profiles – display boards will provide information on topics such as population, fertility rates, multiple deprivation, health status e.g. levels of long term illness and people’s views about their own health.

**To help the PCT better understand the priorities of the health community and to respond to their health needs, Patch Teams have been formed, involving front-line health and social services staff and local people in local decision-making about local health services.
